Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Worldtimer – One Minute Review

I know I probably sound like a broken record when I say that Maurice Lacroix is one of the best bang-for-the-buck brands out there today. Here’s yet another watch, the Masterpiece Worldtimer, to help you understand why you should have an ML in your rotation.

DO WE LIKE IT?

Abso-freaking-lutely. With an MSRP of $4,900, this and the Nomos Zurich World Timer are the two top world time watches for folks who don’t want to spend all the money they earned by selling their first born…

This is one looker of a watch. The dial alone justifies the moderate price and the push button features to work the world time function are a breath of fresh air, and are in contrast to the traditional way of setting the cities via a crown, pretty damn cool. As with all ML timepieces, build quality and finishing are fantastic for this price category.

VERDICT

If you’ve had them all, or if you’re heading in the direction of having them all, this is one to consider. The only negative with this piece is the exhibition back that showcases a workhorse movement that although reliable, is a little underwhelming to look at after you’ve looked the dial. In fact, the gold winding rotor reminds me of many Hamilton pieces that are priced considerably lower.

Cheers,

Michael Senderovich
